Arch de Lutan - Models
Three models of the Arch de Lutan are available for order. They each incorporate 5-piece, hand-bent, hand-carved tops made from premium spruce tonewood.
Model 1: Arch de Lutan "Tribute"
This is the original de Lutan model with a 5-piece, bent wood top - a tribute to the historical viol de gamba featuring bent wood construction. Features include:
- 17" wide body; 3" depth; Venetian (rounded) cutaway or non-cutaway
- 1-3/4" neck (at nut) width with 21 frets
- 25" scale
- 5-piece, bent wood top made from premier grade spruce (domestic or European). Top is bent to shape, then hand-carved and graduated to thickness; braced and voiced to meet customer requirements for sound
- Traditional carved back: 2 piece, bookmatched, figured maple back with matching maple sides
- Two-piece maple neck with dark centerline
- Decorative body binding
- Bound, historical "flame hole" f-hole is standard (other f-hole shapes available)
- Nitrocellulose lacquer finish: translucent natural or honey blonde finish
- Optional floating pickup with end pin jack plug-in
- Decorative 12th fret fingerboard inlay; no other fretboard inlay, in keeping with overall clean and understated look of guitar (position markers available as option - see below)
- Ellsberry "E" logo on headstock (maker's name and signature appear on label inside body)
- Schaller gold tuners with ebony knobs
- Hard, plush-lined case included
Options:
- 3-color Sunburst finish applied in traditional colors of yellow, red and a custom dark:
- Block fingerboard markers in pearl
- Calton case upgrade

Model 2: Arch de Lutan "Elite"
This is the premier de Lutan model with both a 5-piece bent wood top plus a 5-piece bent wood back, a true one-of-a-kind. It features exquisite, elegant handwork throughout. Only one of these guitars is hand-produced by luthier James Ellsberry each year. Features include:
- 17" wide body; 3" depth; Venetian (rounded) cutaway or non-cutaway
- 1-3/4" neck (at nut) width with 21 frets
- 25" scale
- 5-piece, bent wood top made from premier grade spruce (domestic or European).
- 5-piece, bent wood back made from alternating strips of high-figure, premium hardwoods, chosen by the customer
- Two-piece maple neck with handmade purfling centerline
- Handmade, decorative wood binding/purfling
- Fretboard and headstock binding to match body binding
- Bound, historical "flame hole" f-hole (other f-hole shapes are available)
- Nitrocellulose lacquer finish of choice
- Floating pickup with end pin jack plug-in
- Decorative fingerboard inlay
- Ellsberry "E" logo on headstock (maker's name and signature appear on label inside body)
- Hand-made, etched Alessi tuners
- Deluxe Calton case
Model 3: Arch de Lutan "Grand Elite"
Same as the exceptional "Elite," with the added touch of abalone shell binding throughout the guitar - front, back, fretboard and headstock. Truly a collector's classic.
